Prospects and leads include past clients, sphere contacts, CRM contacts, and any opportunities you worked while at your previous brokerage. This can also include contacts from pay-per-lead platforms like Zillow, OpCity, and similar services. These contacts are often covered by the terms in your ICA and your previous brokerage’s policies.
When you move to simpliHŌM, you’ll need to follow your local MLS rules and your ICA with your former brokerage. If allowed, you should request a broker-signed list of the contacts you are authorized to continue working with after you leave. This helps make it clear which relationships you can take with you and which must stay with the previous brokerage.
It’s not unusual for the previous brokerage to ask for a referral fee tied to any business that comes from these prospects and leads after you join simpliHŌM. If that happens, make sure those referral terms are documented and submitted to simpliHŌM along with any related closing file.
If your previous broker does not authorize you to take or solicit certain contacts from their CRM or systems, you must respect that decision. You should not continue to work those contacts, and simpliHŌM will not intervene in decisions made by your previous broker.
If you have questions at any point, reach out to your Broker or email support@simplihom.com for step-by-step help.
